When in doubt, contact me.

Unless otherwise noted, the copyright for all images posted to this website belongs to me, Scott Cushman, and they are protected under US law and international treaties.

Having said that, I'm pretty relaxed about how my photos get used since photography is not my primary source of income. However, I do have a few guidelines I'd appreciate my visitors follow.

Photos of yourself or your family members

If you, your immediate family member, or your boyfriend or girlfriend are the subject of one of my photos, I grant you license to download, print and/or post online the photos of yourself, your family member, or partner. You may not sell the photo or use it commercially in any other way without contacting me for permission. If the photo has been watermarked, do not remove the watermark. You are not required to attribute the photo to me, but attribution and a link back are appreciated. I also enjoy hearing from those who like my work, so while you are not required to contact me, a quick note is always nice.

Other non-commercial uses

If you are simply a fan or otherwise do not fall into the subject/family category detailed above, you might still be able to use my photos, but you must ask first. Under most circumstances, I will grant you license to print or post photos online so long as you do not sell them or in other ways make a profit from my work. Include in your query a description of how you plan to use the photo, including a link to any relevant website. If the photo has been watermarked, do not remove the watermark. You are not required to attribute the photo to me, but attribution and a link back are appreciated.

Commercial use

If you plan to use one or more of my photos in a commercial manner, including but not limited to advertising, publishing in a for-profit publication (either online or in print), or printing on merchandise, you must contact me. We can arrange terms of licensing. When applicable, I may also require you to get permission from the subject or model depicted in the photograph before granting a license. In many cases, I will be able to supply a higher-quality file than those posted here.

Thank you for complying with these guidelines.
